Konnect (“Konnect,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile application and community platform designed to connect neurodivergent individuals and their supporters to resources, events, employment opportunities, wellness tools, and community. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care and transparency.
This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what rights you have regarding your data. By using the Konnect app or website (konnectlife.co), you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
a) Information You Provide Directly
- Account registration: first name, last name, email address, and password
- Profile information: location, interests, goals, and “About me” content you choose to add
- Authentication data: if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from those providers
- Communications: messages you send through the app, support requests, and feedback
- Event RSVPs and resource saves
b) Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, time spent, and interaction patterns
- Log data: IP address, app version, crash reports, and error logs
- Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
c) Sensitive Information
Konnect is designed for neurodivergent individuals. You may voluntarily share information about your neurodivergent identity, diagnosis, or related experiences in your profile or through community features. We treat this information as sensitive personal data and apply heightened protections as described below. We never require you to disclose any health or disability-related information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Personalize your experience including “For You” recommendations, relevant events, and curated resources
- Operate community features including messaging and group participation
- Send you app notifications, updates, and service-related communications
- Improve and develop the Konnect platform
- Ensure the safety and security of our platform and users
- Comply with legal obligations
- Respond to support requests
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects without human review.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with advertisers. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
a) Service Providers
We work with third-party service providers who assist in operating the platform. These include cloud infrastructure providers (including Amazon Web Services), analytics providers, and authentication services (Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In). All service providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your data to perform services on our behalf.
b) Other Users
Profile information you make public (such as your display name, interests, and “About me”) may be visible to other Konnect users. You control what you share on your profile. Private messages are only visible to the intended recipients.
c) Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Konnect, our users, or the public.
d) Business Transfers
If Konnect is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice in the app before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS/HTTPS
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest
- Role-based access controls limiting who can access user data
- Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments

Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data and will notify you promptly in the event of a breach that affects your personal information.
6. Your Rights and Choices

a) Access and Portability
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
b) Correction
You may update or correct your personal information at any time through your profile settings or by contacting us.
c) Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and personal information by going to Profile > Settings > Delete Account or by contacting us at privacy@konnectlife.co.
d) Opt-Out of Marketing Communications
You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. You may manage push notification preferences in your device settings.
e) California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. f) European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and data portability. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (for sensitive data and marketing), contract performance (for account services), and legitimate interests (for security and platform improvement). 7. Children’s Privacy
Konnect is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at privacy@konnectlife.co and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
For users between the ages of 13 and 17, we encourage parental involvement in account setup and usage. Certain features may be restricted for minor users.
8. Third-Party Services and Links
The Konnect app provides links to third-party websites, articles, and resources. When you tap “Open Resource” or navigate to external content, you leave the Konnect environment and those third parties’ own privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites and encourage you to review their policies.

9. Cookies and Tracking
The Konnect mobile app does not use browser cookies. Our website (konnectlife.co) may use cookies to improve your browsing experience and analyze website traffic. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. We do not use tracking pixels or third-party advertising trackers in the app.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app, by email, or by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of Konnect after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
